Optoma HD141X Full 3D 1080p 3000 Lumen DLP Home Theater Projector with MHL Enabled HDMI Port
CUSTOMER REVIEW
The Optoma HD141X is a well-built bang-for-your-buck HD projector. This is my first projector of any sorts, and a first for my family. Usually when I buy new tech-toys, I end up spending a ton of money to get the best of the best, so I was a little weary when this projector was so cheap compared to its competitors.
Ease of use:
Initially I was looking for a projector that would work in my basement as a supplementary PC screen. This projector fit this roll very, very well. It takes 2 cords to use-- an HDMI cable and the AC adapter cable. Once these were in I could enjoy a full 1080p experience (60hz) from my PC to my wall, allowing for a 90.34 inch screen (which could easily be bigger if I had a larger area to use with my projector). Wanting to use it for gaming, I was worried that there would be some input lag between the PC and the output of the projector. Amazingly, there was no lag.
Video quality:
The projector is VERY easy to zoom and focus, making for very crisp pictures. When I am not using the projector for my PC, I am using it with a Blue-ray player. The picture on this is phenomenal, making it feel as if I'm watching a 4k TV.
Audio:
The sound on the projector is pretty decent too, but there is no way you can expect it to surpass a surround-sound set-up. The quality is fine and goes to decently loud volume. Not much else to say. Overall, if you have the ability to use a surround sound system, use that instead of the built-in speakers with the projector. Just make sure to set the projector volume to '0' to avoid a echo-y sound when using an additional sound output (like a dolby set-up, etc.).
3d:
There are 3-d features associated with the HD141X as well, however, I have not been able to fully figure out the additional costs and how they work with the projector. So other than a missing quick-and-easy guide to using the 3D functions, this projector met and surpassed every-one of my expectations. I've had 'sleep-overs' in the basement with my little brothers, feeling as though we are playing games in a movie theatre.
Overall:
Ease of Use = 5/5
Video Quality = 5/5
Audio = 4/5
3d = N/A
Customer Satisfaction = 5/5
I would recommend this projector to anyone wanting a very solid system that can deliver quality results. Not having any previous experience with projectors, I am completely happy with my purchase.
