This would be my fourth projector in last 5 years. Started with Epson playmate. Had that for about a year then traded for an Optoma DV 10 ( 1000 Lumens) that was slowly loosing the brightness. ( Still have it and works)
Then I dived into a LED projector ( Acer with 500 Lumens) about 2 years ago. That projector is still going strong and I love it. Its excellent when its dark and gives excellent color reproduction along with auto keystone etc. But you can not watch it with any light in the room. Always had to wait for the dark and if we want to have guests for a movie night...forget it as it would be too late for the movie to finish and most of the times either the guests would want to leave or I would wish that they leave and I can sleep.
Have been thinking of upgrading to another LED projector as they have started to come in 1000 Lumens....but I always knew the regular projectors are better at the current time until the LED ones come out in more lumens

Size is little bigger than LED ones....but not by much
And NO ISSUES with waiting for it to get dark. Projected image is easily visible with evening light or blinds drawn and is much sharper and with good colors
Can call guests earlier and finish a movie. Matter of fact I have watched three movies in last three days and loving it.
Just make sure you get a good sound system as the projector speaker is not enough for the fun. Not that I bought it for the speaker. This is a projector and not a sound system. But the speaker would more than suffice for a presentation.
Buy it now and indulge. Yes the price may come down by 50$ in a few months....but I think its worth spending it now than wait 6 months as I have not seen too much drop in prices usually in projectors.
